While uncertainty surrounding the fate of the Clarion County Jail has surfaced in recent weeks, the Clarion County Commissioners tabled an agreement with Jefferson County for the housing of county inmates in Jefferson County for a second time on Tuesday. “The contract is in the hands of our attorney for review,” said Commissioner Wayne Brosius.

A Clarion County Man is behind bars for allegedly killing a Dubois Woman earlier this Month. Police say a witness claimed that she heard Steigerwald kill Roman and that he had tried to stage the scene to look like a suicide. An autopsy determined that Roman’s cause of death was sharp force injuries to her neck. Steigerwald is charged with a single county of criminal homicide.
